To stop the bleeding and help soothe the nail you can apply a small amount of baby powder to the nail that was cut to the quick. This is extremely effective to help stop the bleeding and prevent the nail from becoming infected. If you leave the nail exposed without any protection, you will find it much easier to allow infection in.
