How to Investigate People on a Budget
Do you want to find out about a suspicious coworker, a neighbor who may be up to no good, a creepy boss, or a suspected cheating spouse? If so, you will need to become your own private detective. But wait, isn't investigating expensive? It can be, but there are ways you can find out about someone even when on a budget.
Borrow supplies. If you decide to spy on a cheating spouse or a neighbor you suspect may be unlawfully entering your home, you need proof. To get that proof, you need a digital camera or a video camera. If you do not have these supplies, they could easily cost you $500 or more. If you do not have the money to spend, opt for borrowing supplies. Ask friends and family under the disguise you want to document a special family event.
Buy supplies on sale. Handled video cameras will work when spying on someone, but it is best to opt for a hidden camera. Those with motion activated sensors are best for undetection, but they can get costly. To reduce their cost, look for sales or the best prices. Opt for shopping online. Not only are you provided with a wide range of prices, but products too. Sales prevent investigating someone from becoming too expensive. After all, you do want to catch a suspected cheating spouse, but not if you can't feed your kids.
Acquire help. Some spouses are brazen enough to cheat in their own homes, but others opt for a second location, like a nearby hotel. In these instances, video surveillance isn't enough. Unfortunately, you may be unable to find a babysitter to watch the kids or get time off work to spy. In that case, acquire help. That help should come from a trusted friends or relative. Often times, they won't request compensation and just do the deed out of the kindness of their heart. As opposed to hiring a private investigator, this approach saves a lot of money.
Use the internet. Not only is the internet an affordable way to investigate someone you want to know more about, but it is usually free. A simple internet search on Google can produce a lot of information. Of course, some people have nothing published about them online, but others are loaded with websites. If the person who you are investigating has been arrested recently, married, had a baby, or received a community award, you may find an online news report highlighting the event.
Perform a background check. If you want to easily find out about someone and have easy to access information, opt for a background check. Background checks do vary, but a lot of information is usually provided. This information may include financial records, property deeds, education records, employment records, criminal records, driving records, date and location of birth, and so forth. Many companies will perform a background check for a fee. If on a budget, price compare to find the best deal.
Opt to do your own background check. As previously stated, background checks produce varying information. It depends on the company performing the investigation. In most cases, you are provided with information on marriage, employment history, criminal record, and former known addresses. Some of this information you can acquire for yourself by searching at your local city, town, village, or county office buildings. If you want documented proof of a marriage or home sale, you will need to pay to make a copy.
As you can see, there are many ways for you to find out about a person and investigate them even if you are limited on financial resources.
